In loving memory, The Colonel
Furry Paws Pet Sitting Service was established by our alpha dog, Shawn, who's love for furry pawed friends is limitless. She has cared for and trained many types of furry friends throughout her lifetime. In the spring of 2019 she tragically lost her own beloved fur baby, a male pure-bread Boxer named "The Colonel," whom she lovingly adopted from Boxer Rescue Los Angeles. Her Boxer certainly was one amazing dog. Having ascended over 800 mountain summits, he was one of the very first few canines ever to earn the coveted "100 Peaks Emblem Badge" from The Sierra Club! Not only was The Colonel an extreme canine athlete, but he also had his 15-minutes of fame when he competed against hundreds of entries in Hallmark Channel's "Great American Rescue Dog Show" and made it to the Semi-Finals of his category, "Best In Snoring." Soon after The Colonel's passing Shawn contemplated adopting a new fur baby, but having recently relocated to the Santa Clarita suburb of Los Angeles she also pondered over how difficult it was for her to find quality pet sitter services from a provider who wasn't only affordable, but whom she could rely upon and trust. That's when the lightbulb went off! In an effort to pay it forward for all the wonderful memories her beloved dog had given her and for all the extraordinary care her pet sitter had bestowed upon him, the Furry Paws Pet Sitting service was born. So Furry Paws is literally Shawn's ode to her beloved Boxer, The Colonel. It's the best way she knows how to honor her sweet Boxer baby by offering reliable, trustworthy and caring dog walker and pet sitter services to other furry friends who deserve the best!
